Dark Gathering Anime: Release date and other details revealed

Kenichi Kondo’s Dark Gathering TV anime’s official Twitter account has released a new promotional video for the anime. The new video showcases the characters and the horror scenes. It also reveals when the anime will make its debut. The TV anime is said to release in July. The new video has also revealed the cast of the TV anime.

The cast features:

  • Yu Sasahara as Yayoi Hozuki
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Keitaro Gentoga
  • Kana Hanazawa as Eiko Hozuki
  • Rina Kawaguchi as Ai Kamiyo

Hiroshi Ikehata will be directing the anime at OLM, Shigeru Murakoshi will be overseeing the series scripts, and Shin’ya Segawa will be in charge of designing the characters.

The music for the anime will be composed by Kohta Yamamoto, Shun Narita, and Yusuke Seo. Other staff members include Taijiro Nagata as art director, Yuho Ando as DOP, Takahiro Uezono as 3D director, Ritsuko Utagawa as color designer, and lastly Kohei Yoshida as sound director.

The manga focuses on Keitaro Gentoga, who possesses the power of being a spirit medium. In junior high school, he got someone else strangled in a spirit possession incident, and he has been a shut-in for over 2 years. As he gets back in society as a private tutor, he meets a genius girl called Yayoi Hozuki. She understands Keitaro has skill as a spirit medium, and she invites him to go with her to a haunted location. Both of them then start a new journey to capture evil spirits.

Kondo launched the manga in Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine in March 2019. The English version of the manga is released by Viz Media.

Re:Zero renewed for the third season

During the AnimeJapan 2023 event, Kadokawa announced that the Re:ZERO anime series will be getting a third season. Kadokawa has also released a teaser trailer and also showcased a teaser visual for the season.

The first season of season premiered in April 2016 and comprised 25 episodes. The series was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan. The company will also be streaming both the Re:ZERO and Re:PETIT short anime spinoff series. Funimation released the TV anime on home video with an English dub in June 2018.

The anime has also been adapted into two original video anime (OVA) volumes. Crunchyroll began streaming the first volume in February 2020 and the second one in April 2020. Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World – Director’s Cut, the updated version of the TV anime’s first season, came out in January 2020.

The new edit of the first 25-episode season comes with exclusive footage and reworks the episodes to run in a one-hour timeslot. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime. The anime’s second season came out in July 2020, delayed from its original April premiere timeline due to the spread of COVID-19. the second season’s latter half came out in January 2021. Crunchyroll also streamed the second season as it aired in Japan.
