Gamers8 will return in the summer and span eight weeks jam-packed with esports and gaming action, it was announced at the end of January. Following Dota 2, CS:GO is the second esports game that has been confirmed for the festival. The Riyadh Masters, a $15 million tournament featuring 20 teams for Valve’s MOBA, will be the pinnacle of the inaugural ESL Pro Tour Dota2 season.

CSGO Event For Gamers8 Announced With $1 Million Prize:

The likes of Rainbow Six, Rocket League, and PUBG dominated the previous event, but this year, things will be bigger and bolder. As it did last year, Dota 2 will take home the majority of the $30 million prize pool that is now up for grabs. Fans are thrilled that one of the most valuable CSGO tournaments in the market will make its home at Gamers8 this summer.

It was revealed in 2022 that a $37 billion investment plan had been put together to make Saudi Arabia the dominant force in the esports industry. Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, unveiled a massive plan in September to create 39,000 new jobs to support the growth of the domestic esports scene. One of the first significant steps in that plan was the debut of Gamers8 last year, which was a remarkably successful event.

This year’s show, which is being dubbed ‘The Land of Heroes’, will play host to both a $15 million Dota 2 event and a $1 million CSGO tournament. These are the only tournaments that are currently confirmed, but more will be added as the event gets closer. The Saudi Esports Federation’s current Chairman, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, stated in a statement:

‘Gamers8: The Land of Heroes is going to be the destination this summer, and we are delighted to once again welcome the elite of the esports world to Riyadh. The Land of Heroes is the place for both esports champions competing for glory and gaming fans looking to write their own stories.’

This year, Gamers8 is reportedly going to consolidate all things gaming and esports. Gamers8 is sure to have something for everyone, from festivals and live music performances to kid-friendly activities and educational events. High-profile partnerships are forming as the event gets closer. Razer has recently been named the competition’s official gaming gear partner, it was recently revealed.

But it must be emphasised that not everyone supports the Gamers8 tournament. For instance, Moist Esports, a brand-new organisation founded in 2021, announced it would boycott Gamers8 due to Saudi Arabia’s position on the LGBTQ+ community. Beginning on July 6 and lasting for eight weeks, Gamers8 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
