For players having trouble connecting to CS: GO‘s servers, whether it is while firing up the game itself or a match, it’s highly likely that there’s a bigger issue out there. CS: GO is comfortably one of Valve’s most consistently popular games, frequently smashing Steam’s top charts when speaking of peak players, monthly averages, and concurrent averages.

But that popularity is coupled with a heavy requirement for servers, and that means when a problem arises, a lot of people across the globe will be upset about it. In this article, we will discuss some of the sites and tools players can use to check on the status of CS: GO‘s servers.

Check the status through Steamstat.us

It is a very reliable way to check the official server status for CS: GO. It is an arm of the expansive third-party website for all Steam-related queries — SteamDB. This website shows server notices for several services such as Steam, CS: GO, Team Fortress 2, and Dota 2. Players can find the CS: GO servers on the bottom-left side of the page.

Under the CS: GO column, players will find different messages:

  • Idle or Low means the server is stable and has low activity. This is when the player count is low in that region.
  • Medium means the server is stable but has more players on the server.
  • High means the server will be full soon, so more issues can arise.
  • N/A means that the database didn’t successfully ping the server. However, that doesn’t mean the server isn’t functional.

Check Down Detector

Another way is to check through Down Detector, a website that reports of outages for several games, websites, and services. It also shows CS: GO outages, which is a quick way to check if other players are experiencing the same issues.
