Counter Strike 2: How to Play Limited Beta Test

A limited number of players have received invitations to the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Beta Test from Valve based on a variety of criteria, including recent play on Valve official servers, trust factor, Steam account standing, and more. If you are chosen, you will see a notification in the CS:GO main menu. To join the Limited Test, choose “ENROLL,” and the download will start after you do so. To play the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test after the download is finished, launch CS:GO and choose the “Limited Test” option.

The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for the Limited Test of Counter-Strike 2:

  • Playtime on Valve’s official servers
  • Trust factor
  • Steam account standing

In Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you will be notified in-game if you are chosen (CS:GO). Do not be discouraged if you are unable to play the game right now; more players will eventually gain access. Check CS:GO frequently to see if you get an invite.

It doesn’t necessarily follow that you won’t have access to it at all if you are not currently chosen because Valve has stated that they will be gradually adding more players to the Limited Beta Test. Therefore, it is suggested that you frequently check the CS:GO main menu. The Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test will initially only support Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive matchmaking on Dust2, but later limited test releases will also include additional game modes, maps, and features.

Valve will choose players based on the prerequisites we mentioned earlier. As it is an invitation-only test, you will be notified in-game if you qualify. The limited test version of Counter-Strike 2 can be downloaded from Steam after you accept the invitation in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive by clicking the Enroll button. Beware of shady websites that offer Counter-Strike 2 beta access in order to steal your Steam account information. Avoid falling for them to avoid permanently losing access to your Steam account.

Players can test out Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive matchmaking as part of the current Limited test, but only the Dust 2 map will be offered. Other maps are not currently accessible to you, but Valve has promised to add more maps, game modes, and features in upcoming updates. If the beta is closed to you, you will still be able to play the game when it goes live in the summer of 2023.
