COD Mobile World Championship 2022 dates, schedule, prize pool, and all you need to know

The COD Mobile World Championship 2022 was announced by Activision on Monday. The tournament will be split into five phases and will begin on March 31. Solo Play is the initial stage, which will take place over four weekends beginning March 31.

It is open to everyone, and each player who qualifies must compete in ten ranked matches. Those who earn 60 points in the first stage will advance to the second level.

COD Mobile World Championship 2022 schedule

The whole format is divided into 5 stages as follows:

1: Solo Play – March-April

2: Team Play – May

3: Regional Qualifiers – June-July

4: Regional Playoffs – August

5: Grand Finals – December

As written above stage 2 will be starting from 12 May 2022 and will be till 22nd May 2022. Top teams from here will move above and play Regional Qualifiers.

Coming to stage 3 that is Regional Qualifiers, will be played in 5 regions and for over three weekends from 17th June to 3rd July.

  1. India and LATAM – June 17 to 19
  2. EU and Japan – June 24 to 26
  3. North America – July 1 and 3

The fourth stage which is Regional Playoffs is scheduled in August and the dates for different regions are as follows

  1. LATAM and India – August 13 and 14
  2. EU and Japan – August 20 and 21
  3. North America – August 27 and 28

The top teams from Stage 4 will advance to the final stage (Stage 5), which will be held offline in December, for the COD Mobile World Championship finals. The exact site has yet to be revealed.

Although Activision would not disclose the overall prize pool, they did state that it is in excess of $2 million which makes it the largest prize pool ever for a COD Mobile event. The prize pool for the Grand Finals will be $1.7 million. The prize pool for the World Championship 2021 was $2 million.

Together the previous version, India was lumped in with the Middle East. India, however, is now a separate zone due to the game’s popularity in the country.

Similarly, there is no announcement for Southeast Asia and China because COD Mobile is released in those territories by Garena and Tencent. The regional tournaments for both corporations were recently announced.
