Season 5 of COD Mobile will bring a historic change in the history of the title. After years of complaining, Respawn players will finally be able to rest easy because the infamous Persistence perk is becoming a nerf. The change has been confirmed on test servers and will bring a major adjustment to how the game is currently played. Season 4 still has a long way to go, but the public test builds for the upcoming season have revealed a ton of secrets that players will get to see once the update drops to the game. The store will feature new maps, new tactical equipment, major UI changes, and more. Season 5 will also see a change in shape to the existing Meta due to the release of new weapons. With Persistence’s nerf incoming, players who rely on it to win Respawn matches must come up with a new plan for stacking Scorestrek points.

How the new Persistence nerf will work in COD Mobile

There are two major components that have been changed in the game that will directly affect the Persistence perk. First Persistence will be changed to Blue Perk and will stop being Red Perk from Season 5. To understand the significance of this change, players need to keep in mind that players who use Persistence will now have to rely on Hardline Well.

Therefore players using Persistence from season 5 onwards will not be able to use Hardline.
Persistence will still work the same way and the scorestreak points will pile up. But without the extra 25% score that comes with Hardline, it will be difficult for COD Mobile players to get streaks. The second change is also big. Scorestrakes will now be divided into three ranks.

The first rank consists of scorestreaks that have a lower score. UAVs, Shock RCs, Shield Turrets and others fall into this category. In the second and third ranks, a higher score is required to activate Scorestrakes. The Predator missile is the second-ranked scorestreak while the napalm is the third-ranked streak.

Players will be able to equip only one scorestreak from each rank. Unlike now, where players can use perseverance to stack heavy streaks to harass their opponents, players will only be able to stack a heavy streak from the third rank from COD Mobile Season 5.

This is a huge noise and it destroys the purpose that perseverance has served all these years. However, this is also a cool move that will allow players to focus more on winning gunfights in COD Mobile and not just stacking points.
