This partnership is a significant step for both Microsoft and Boosteroid, as it opens up new opportunities for both companies in the highly competitive cloud gaming industry. Ukrainian-based cloud gaming provider, Boosteroid, has faced setbacks as two of its offices in Kharkiv have been damaged by missile attacks from Russian forces. Despite this, the company’s service remains available to its users in Ukraine, the UK, US and across the European Union.

Microsoft’s new partnership with Boosteroid showcases the tech giant’s dedication to releasing games on multiple platforms, a strategy that it hopes will persuade UK and European regulators to approve its $68.7 billion acquisition bid for Activision Blizzard. Microsoft’s vice chair and president, Brad Smith, has stated that the partnership with Boosteroid demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s 160,000 software developers. The deal comes after Microsoft has already provided $430 million in technology and financial assistance to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion, highlighting the company’s dedication to the region.

Furthermore, Smith believes that this partnership, along with recent agreements with Nintendo and Nvidia, will help regulators understand the potential of Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. He believes that by making Call of Duty available on a range of devices, the company can further demonstrate its commitment to offering players more options to access their favorite games.

Microsoft’s CEO of Gaming, Phil Spencer, shares this commitment, stating that Xbox is committed to giving everyone more ways to play their favorite games across different devices. The company believes in the power of games to bring people together, and this partnership with Boosteroid is just one of the many steps Microsoft is taking to expand its reach in the gaming industry and offer players more options to enjoy their gaming experiences.
