The anime Chainsaw Man is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name. Part 1 of the manga ran for 97 chapters in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020. The manga is divided into 11 tankoubon volumes, with volume 11 being released in English on June 7, 2022. Fujimoto announced at Jump Festa 2022 that Part 2 of Chainsaw Man will begin serialisation in summer 2022 on Shueisha’s online magazine, Shonen Jump+. Since then, no further details about Part 2 have been revealed, but Fujimoto has recently released a one-shot titled Goodbye, Eri.
Chainsaw Man is gritty, violent, and contains mature themes. Readers who are interested should exercise caution. The following is how Manga Plus introduces Chainsaw Man: “The name says it all! Denji’s life of poverty is changed forever when he merges with his pet chainsaw dog, Pochita! Now he’s living in the big city and an official Devil Hunter. But he’s got a lot to learn about his new job and chainsaw powers!”
Manga Plus, Viz, and the Shonen Jump App all have the manga available. As is customary, only the first and last three chapters are free to read. The rest of the manga requires a subscription to read.
