Both games share content, which means that weapons, cosmetics, and other in-game unlockables like killstreaks can be shared.

Call of Duty: Warzone, which launched a little over a year ago, is currently one of the most popular free-to-play titles, with 100 million people playing the battle royale shooter. Following the destruction of the game’s map by a nuclear missile, the in-game city of Verdansk is returning with a new map set in 1984, as seen in the announcement trailer above. This is similar to what Fortnite did in 2019, when it destroyed its original map and replaced it with a new one.

Despite having the same shape and layout as its predecessor, players will notice changes to most locations as well as a 1980s vibe that fits the game’s new time period.

The new map, Verdansk ’84, has some changes to make it a new location rather than a direct reskin, while also becoming more closely integrated with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which is set in the same decade.

Both games share content, which means that weapons, cosmetics, and other in-game unlockables like killstreaks can be shared between the two games.

Verdansk ’84 marks the official start of the third season of Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, and it’s now available with a slew of new weapons and a few old ones nerfed.
