Call of Duty Warzone is the second battle royale title in the franchise. Ever since it came out in 2022, it has seen a surge in popularity. But how many people play Warzone in 2022?
The game is based on 2019’s Modern Warfare and has managed to bring both Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard’s weapons. It also has a sequel in the pipeline. The free-to-download game is among the most popular battle royale games in the genre, but what is Warzone’s total player count?
Well, there isn’t any active player count displayed in-game for Warzone. It means knowing the number of players online simultaneously is impossible. However, according to Activision, Warzone has crossed the 125 million collective players mark since it came out in March 2020.

However, this number pertains to Warzone’s total player base over the past few years. It does not show the active player base currently. That figure could be around a few million, but nothing can be said for certain.
Currently, there are no live player counts to know the actual player base. Since Call of Duty games have been moved out of Steam onto Battle.net, it’s not possible to see player counts for PC either. Though that might change soon set to change when the Modern Warfare 2, as players are expecting Steam to come back in the scene.
Other games like Apex Legends and Valorant offer these statistics for the public to see. Apex Legends is Warzone’s main rival in the Battle Royale genre and has seen around 130 million players since its initial launch in 2019.
Valorant, on the other hand, has a lower player count since it’s exclusively available on PC. Valorant has recently managed to retain a monthly average of 1.5 million players. The total number of players since launch isn’t made public yet.
