Welcome to Ashika Island, aka “Isle of the Sea Lion”. What was once planned as a resort destination is now under siege by the Shadow Company, whose forces are searching for local members of the ultranationalist Konni group. A compact, medium-sized map designed for resurgence, Ashika Island includes various locations such as the Town Center, Beach Club, Tsuki Castle, Port Ashika, and river channels and bridges scattered throughout the environment.

Ashika Island only plays host to a maximum of 18 players, with squad gameplay made up of six three-man squads. Compared to Al Mazrah, the map that initially launched with Warzone 2, it has a much smaller number of players. Al Mazrah had a maximum of 66 players per lobby, with 22 three-man squads. Given the very small amount of space on Ashika, players have little variety in possible spawn locations. So far, there are only six recorded spawn locations on Ashika, far fewer than Al Majra.

If you’re jumping into the new Ashika Island map introduced with Season 2, the first thing you’ll notice is that the area is much smaller than Al Mazra. This has affected the number of players at matches, reducing the size of the lobby compared to Al Majra. The total number of players on Ashika Island is 18, making up to 6 three player teams. Overall, it’s a big drop, but falls somewhat in line with player totals in Building 21.

The Ashika spawn locations are:

  • Beach Club
  • Town Center
  • Lighthouse (North of Oganikku)
  • Water Treatment
  • Shipwreck
  • Port Ashika

Bear in mind, however, that you can jump into the DMZ alone or as a two-person squad, which means you can dispatch those lone wolves pretty quickly if you opt to drop in as a three. . To add to this, due to the Xfill functionality, some opposing squads may opt for a quick extraction, wearing this player down dramatically. Since there are both fewer spawn locations and less physical space to move around on the map, players can actually come into contact with each other, despite the reduction in size. Players must be prepared for battle at any time when visiting one of these key centers, or venturing deeper into Ashika’s center.
