BLAST’s first arena event of 2023 will be held in the capital of the United States. Tournament organizers have announced that the BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2023 will be held in Washington, DC. The US capital’s ~4,000-seater Entertainment and Sports Arena will host the $425,000 tournament from June 7-11.The event will mark the return of the Blast to North America for the first time in four years. The Copenhagen-based organizer previously held two Pro Series stops in the United States in 2019, in Miami and Los Angeles. BLAST Premier Spring Finals coming to Washington, D.C:

The Spring Finals will feature eight teams, three of which have already been decided after winning their respective Spring groups: Vitality, FaZe and G2. Three more teams will qualify from the ongoing Spring Groups knockout stage and two from the Spring Showdown.The BLAST Premier Spring Finals is an annual mid-season event in BLAST’s CS:GO calendar. The tournament will feature eight world-class teams selected on the basis of their performances in the BLAST Premier Circuit in the first half of the season.

The BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 began on January 19 with three different double-elimination groups, each containing four teams. The winners of each group earned direct qualification for the Spring Finals, while the remaining nine CS:GO teams were sent through the knockout stage to compete for the three remaining Spring Finals slots.

The current team list looks as follows:

  • Team Vitality (Group A)
  • FaZe Clan (Group B)
  • G2 Esports (Group C)

The announcement of the Washington event comes days after the Blast announced its new competitive season, as well as new information regarding TV rights for its tournaments. The most recent BLAST competition in the US was the BLAST Pro Series in Los Angeles. In a release, Blast said the event is a part of the company’s commitment to reach out to new audiences.
