Blacklist International, a Southeast Asian esports organization, announced its partnership with G2 Esports, one of the leading global esports and entertainment brands, on 15 February. With this new partnership, both organizations are set to enter League of Legends: Wild Rift under the banner of G2 Blacklist. Notably, the G2 blacklist will operate from the Philippines. The joint venture between the two esports organizations aims to establish a world-class roster in the growing Wild Rift esports scene. Blacklist made it big with its Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports team, a roster that has won three MPL PH Championships. The organization won its first world championship when Blacklist dominated M3 in 2021. They came close to winning another world championship this year, losing to ECHO in the grand final at M4.

Given the G2’s success in the eSports scene across multiple titles, including League of Legends, Rocket League and CS:GO, Blacklist found the perfect partner to participate in Riot’s new mobile game based on the PC game. Along with announcing the partnership, G2 Blacklist also announced its Wild Rift team, which includes Championship-caliber players including:

“G2 Blacklist is a ‘1+2=4’ type of partnership,” said Trike Gutierrez, CEO of Tier One Entertainment. “It is really something special to have two of the most popular and competitive teams in their respective fields working together.”

“I think this is a game-changer not only for Wild Rift Esports, but for the entire industry,” Gutierrez continued. “With G2, we look forward to bringing the Blacklist brand to new audiences around the world.”According to a press release from Tier One Entertainment, some other aspects of this unique partnership also include the launch of an exclusive artwork created by Philippine street artist Juanito “Quix” Maiquez and a new series titled ‘The Bootcamp’, which will be hosted by G2 Document the journey of the Blacklist Wild Rift Squad.

The new team will be based in the Philippines and is set to compete in the Wild Rift League Asia. The decision to build the Wild Rift roster coincides with the launch of the mentioned WRL Asia — a league created after Riot Games announced Wild Rift’s esports ecosystem would focus on Asia.

The team will start on Friday, February 17, 2023 in the Stage 2 qualifiers of the Wild Rift League Asia. The partnership between Tier One Entertainment and ZEE2 will be strengthened with the launch of a new series titled The Bootcamp, which will document. Wild Rift Squad Journey.
