As they tried to attack Lucifero in the previous chapter, he broke Yami’s arm, Nacht’s arm, and Asta’s leg. When Yuno attempted to shield Asta with the Spirit of Boreas, Lucifero knocked him out of Spirit Assimilation form. Yuno chose to bet on Yami rather than Asta because the former possessed Vengeance’s Sword.

Yuno uses Conjunction to teleport both Nacht and Yami to either side of Lucifero as he falls. Nacht employs a shadowy version of the Blade of Misteltein, and the two attack Lucifero simultaneously. The scans are unclear about the aftermath, but both the captain and vice-captain of the Black Bulls are presumably incapacitated. Yuno’s fate is also unknown, but Lucifero is unlikely to abandon him. Adrammelech stands by and observes the proceedings without interfering.
Asta visits the devil’s time with Licita in the inner plains of his mind, where he speaks to Liebe. He understands Liebe’s feelings for his foster mother and the guilt he feels for his unintentional role in her death. Liebe apologises for meeting Licita in a heartbreaking panel, as he believes his mother would still be alive if she had never met him.
Asta recognises his anguish and assures him that he is grateful to have met him. They reaffirm that their lack of magic binds them together, calling each other “brother” and vowing to kill Lucifero. In the outside world, Asta appears in a new form, his headband falling off to reveal a fifth horn, warning Lucifero that he will never forgive him for murdering his “brother’s mother.”
While Yuno’s choice was not always the best one, it was the most logical. The extent of Lucifero’s abilities is unknown at this time, but it is now certain that only Asta can match him, as Yami’s latest attack failed to inflict any damage.
From the raw scans of Black Clover Chapter 326, it is unclear whether Asta learns anything about Licita being his birth mother. The veracity of Liebe’s claim that Asta is Licita’s child has been called into question. Many argue that because Licita’s body steals life from all living things, she should not be able to give birth.
However, if Licita’s magic steals mana from everything with magic rather than life force, this would explain Asta’s birth, as he is mana-less. Regardless, learning about Licita clearly aided her sons in understanding each other.
Apart from the change in markings, the new version of Devil Union has two distinct differences. His pupils appear to have slits rather than four-pointed stars, and, unlike most Devil Union forms, he has red pupils set in the back irises rather than the front. He also has a fifth horn, which is revealed when his bandana is removed.
Readers have interpreted this to mean that Asta has either reached a new level of Devil Union or that this is something entirely different. Many believe that, as a result of their newfound understanding of one another, Asta has taken a back seat and Liebe has taken control. Another thing to note is that the time limit on Asta’s Devil Union is not mentioned here, implying that it may be insignificant for the time being.
In any case, Black Clover Chapter 326 adds a new twist and a new direction to the ongoing battle. Hopefully, the English translation, which will be released on March 13, will clear things up.
