The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 Quarter finals began today. Six matches were played amongst sixteen teams to determine the top six teams that would proceed to the Semifinals.

With 53 kills and 99 points, the Hyderabad Hydras took first place in the overall standings. They were aggressive from the start, as seen by their total score. 7Sea Esports, led by ex-Godlike player Aladin, got off to a rocky start but rallied to finish second with 94 points. Old Hood Esp, an underdog team, emerged in third place after winning two chicken dinners, while Only Glitch, another underdog team, finished fourth without a chicken dinner.

Team Forever, captained by star player Owais, got off to a good start but couldn’t keep it up and finished ninth. Global Esports, another prominent squad, also had a bad day, finishing 12th. The tournament’s high level of competition is demonstrated by the elimination of both of these veteran teams.

Qualified teams for the BGIS Semifinals:

BGIS 2021 Quarterfinals Day 1 Group 3 match standings

With 13 and seven frags, Old Hood Esp won the first and fourth matches of the day. Their prospects of qualifying were boosted by the points they won in these two matches.

Revenant Esports won the second match of the day, which was played on the Miramar desert map, with 12 kills. The Hyderabad Hydras, on the other hand, won the match with a remarkable 16 finishes, including nine kills from Manty alone.

Mega Force Esports took the third match of the day with 11 kills. 7Sea Esports and Hyderabad Hydras came in second and third, respectively, with 14 and 10 frags. Despite the victory, Mega Force ended seventh in the points standings.

With 12 finishes, the Hyderabad Hydras won the fifth match of the day. 2OP Esports and 7Sea Esports came in second and third place, respectively, with 12 and five finishes.

7Sea Esports won the group’s sixth and final match with 18 kills, with Sarang taking eight kills and earning MVP honours. Only Glitch came in third with eight kills, while Global Esports came in second with eight kills.

The semi finals of the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2021 will take place from January 7 to 10.
