Master Chief has been on countless adventures, but it goes without saying that some of his adventures have a separate fan base. That said, let’s rank the best Halo games of all time. While many would agree there isn’t a bad Halo game, just that some of them hit the right chords with players compared to others.

With the launch of Halo Infinite, the series seems to be closing the Reclaimer Saga, but how good is this trilogy when pit against the original three Halo games? Here’s what we think.

Halo 5: Guardians

Halo 5 isn’t a bad game; however, it failed to create the same impact as the previous offerings. That’s because it was the first Halo title to arrive on the Xbox One. The game felt like it borrowed several aspects from Call of Duty or other FPS games at that time.

Halo 4

Halo 4 was released after five years of the conclusion of the original trilogy, and the world was excited to take Master Chief on more adventures. The game also brought a new antagonist and was also the first chapter in the Reclaimer Saga. The only problem with it was that it couldn’t match the excitement of the original trilogy.

Halo Reach

The Halo trilogy player must be aware of ‘The Fall of Reach’ –the cataclysmic event that almost made Spartans an endangered species. Halo Reach explored that concept, and while it doesn’t feature Master Chief, it is still one of the best Halo games to date. The game also provided a refreshing spin on the Halo Multiplayer, with new weapons, locations, and controls that are still used in the franchise.

Halo Infinite

This iteration brought the Reclaimer Saga to an end but managed to satisfy the players by telling a more contained and personal story. And, it features the star Master Chief. Although he is old and beaten down in the game, there’s still a lot of fight left in him.

Halo Infinite is arguably the best chapter of the Reclaimer Saga, but when speaking of the best Halo titles of all time, Halo Infinite doesn’t make it to the top.

Halo 2

Halo 2 is loved by many players globally and is probably their favorite in the series. The game improved on all aspects of the original and took the franchise to new heights. It was a huge success due to its gripping storyline, upgraded multiplayer, and improved visuals.

Halo 3

Halo 3 has a slight edge over its predecessor, as it brings back Master Chief at the forefront of the franchise. The game also marked Halo’s first appearance on the Xbox 360, showcasing upgraded HD visuals for the first time. The game locked horns with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in 2007.

Halo: Combat Evolved

The original Halo still remains as the best game in the series, not because it was a better game, but for the things it represented. Halo 1 changed the way players saw the FPS genre. The game didn’t only feature a great campaign, it was filled with unforgettable moments.
