Fans of the Nintendo and TiMi Studio MOBA now have a new Attacker to master, as the Psychic/Fairy-type Gardevoir was added to the roster.
In Pokemon Unite, there are over 20 fighters to choose from, each of which fits into one of five roles. Attackers are proving to be very popular among players, as they compensate for their low Endurance by dealing massive ranged damage to their opponents. Fans of the Nintendo and TiMi Studio MOBA now have a new Attacker to master, as the Psychic/Fairy-type Gardevoir was added to the roster as the first post-launch fighter – and it’s already winning over players.
In the early game, you should prioritise evolving the relatively weak Ralts into Kirlia. While you will eventually get both Confusion and Teleport, you should start with Confusion because you will need a good damage-dealing move to help you farm EXP from wild Pokemon. When you reach Level 6 and evolve into Kirlia, you can choose between Psyshock and Future Sight. Both are fantastic moves, but Psyshock has the upper hand because it reduces cooldown every time an attack lands. Given that it deals three attacks in one use, the cooldown time can be drastically reduced.
Kirlia can learn either Psychic or Moonblast at level 8, just before evolving into Gardevoir. We prefer Moonblast because it’s great for getting out of a tight spot by putting distance between you and your opponents while briefly stunning them. When upgraded, it also provides a shield.
Given that Gardevoir is a special attacker, having the Special Attack-boosting Wise Glasses as your first Held Item makes sense. Then we’d suggest the Shell Bell. This useful item restores some vital HP when it lands and also increases Special Attack. The final Held Item is debatable, but we recommend equipping the Float Stone. With Gardevoir’s low Mobility and Endurance, being able to escape a dangerous situation is critical, and this speed-increasing item should help.
While Gardevoir’s ranged attacks and powerful moves make it a fantastic fighter, its low Endurance is difficult to ignore. When confronted with a swarm of enemies or a particularly tanky Pokemon, having Eject as your Held Item provides an emergency exit.
At the moment, the only way to get Gardevoir in Pokemon Unite is to buy it from the Unite Battle Committee. Either 8,000 Aeos Coins or 460 Aeos Gems are required. That’s in the middle of the price range.
