Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment. The company has been expanding its player base. Since the game can be played for free, most of its revenue comes from giving its players the choice of cosmetics-based microtransactions.
These microtransactions enable players to buy accessories that allow them to customize their weapons and legends. Apex Legends features three types of currencies – Apex Coins, Legend Tokens, and Crafting Metals. Among the three types, Apex Coins is the only currency that costs actual money. Players will have to shell out around Rs. 830 to get 1,000 Apex Coins. The player base usually purchases a pack of 1,000 coins, as it takes 950 coins to unlock the battle pass. After battle pass missions are completed, the players receive 1,300 coins that can be used to renew the upcoming season’s battle pass.
Respawn entertainment has created the game in a way that it lets players spend money to receive an heirloom. The game also features limited-time events that showcase heirlooms and cosmetics. Upon unlocking all the cosmetics, players get the heirloom that was featured in this particular event. The only way to unlock all the cosmetics is by buying the event Apex Packs with the help of Apex Coins.

Legend Tokens and Crafting Metals can be earned just by playing games in Apex Legends. Legend Tokens can be used to unlock legend and weapon cosmetics like banner frames, legend skins, weapon skins, etc. In the game, these cosmetics are categorized as common, rare, epic, and legendary. Here is the pricing for the cosmetics.
Legend Tokens only come in handy for unlocking two items – new legends and re-colored legendary skins. If the player has an existing legendary skin for any legend, they can purchase a limited-time variant of the existing skin. If the player doesn’t have the existing legendary skin, the re-colored skin must be bought using Apex Coins.
