Anubis Replaces One Of Counter-Strike’s Most Iconic Maps In Huge CS:GO Update :

Starting today, Anubis will turn the spotlight on one of the most iconic CS maps of all time. Many fans speculated about Dust II’s departure, especially after the map received less than stellar reviews for its update a year earlier. What’s interesting part in this is all about the Switch is that Valve teased the idea of Anubis entering competitive play earlier in the day. Valve also clarified in their post that the upcoming 2023 Paris Major was kept in mind while making this change.

Dust II will still be available in competitive mode, but will not be in the map pool for any professional CS:GO tournaments. There’s no word on whether Dust 2 will be reworked once again, though recent rumors have suggested that both Dust 2 and Mirage will be reworked when the heavily rumored Switch to Source 2 takes place. Although players have been waiting for that change for years, so it may never happen! This wouldn’t be the first time Dust II has been pulled from the Active Duty map pool.

In late 2017, Valve pulled the classic map for the likes of Inferno, a map that is now highly regarded among the Counter-Strike community. However, Dust II’s departure was short-lived, as the map returned to competitive play only half a year later in April of 2018, replacing Cobblestone. Dust II received a visual update during its time out of active duty before its return. All Players will have to wait and see if this pattern will repeat itself once again.

All Gun updates are among the other big changes coming in the November 18 update. For starters, it looks like Valve is really taking a page out of Riot Games’ book with their changes to AWP. Similar to the operator in Valorant, the big green will now only hold five bullets per magazine. This change will apparently force sniper players in Counter-Strike to be more careful with each shot they take forward.

The second gun to receive changes is the M4A1-S, which is getting a bit noisier. Despite holding ten fewer bullets per magazine, the A1-S has long been the preferred weapon over its bigger brother, the A4. Part of this was due to the A1s’ accuracy, especially from long range. That long-range accuracy is exactly what Valve is changing, making the silent M4 less reliable from a distance. It’s a small update in the shape of Valve, but it will have a big impact on CS:GO in 2023.
