The 2023 Anime Awards have been announced by Crunchyroll, with Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and Spy x Family leading the way in category awards. While none were named Best Anime of the Year, this three anime together won eighteen awards out of twenty-nine available categories. This is a massive showing, reflecting the series’ success not only in animation, but also in manga sales and reception. Crunchyroll sponsored the 2023 Anime Awards on March 4th, and some of the world’s finest anime and manga series attended in force. Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, and Spy x Family all had six prizes each. This is no easy task, and the competition was fierce, with multiple popular programmes competing in each of these categories – and others. The big surprise, given how successful they have been in recent years, is Spy x Family, which had its anime premiere just last year. What Sets Spy x Family Apart From the Competition?

Spy x Family, on the other hand, has distinct strengths. Best New Series, Best Ending Sequence for “Comedy”, Best Supporting Character, “Must Protect at All Costs” Character, Best Comedy, and Best VA Performance in Portuguese were all awarded to Nina Carvalho’s performance as Anya Forger. Anya was the clear winner of both character prizes. Spy x Family’s merits, according to these honours, are its comic attitude and charming family dynamic. Despite the presence of spy and action components, they are not the primary focus. Given how rapidly it has garnered popularity among fans, it is not surprise that this series has risen to the forefront of anime. With its anime debut, Spy x Family has become something of an instant success. This is especially true given that it is the newest manga series among these three contenders. Spy x Family is also the only series in this trio that is still running.

Many anime series were given an opportunity to shine at Crunchyroll’s 2023 Anime Awards, but these three programmes secured their status as global hits. These series are also highly distinct from one another in terms of content, tone, and intensity, giving anime lovers plenty of options for their next binge. This presentation offers an intriguing look at the medium’s variety of alternatives. Even with such global acclaim, each series is distinct and easily distinguished from its award-winning counterparts. Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, and Spy x Family all made great showings this year and are expected to remain popular in the near future.
