Alliance recruits hooligan players and two SEA players to complete their DPC 2022-23 roster

Alliance’s final roster for the DPC 2022-23:

  1. Charlie “aQua” Arat (also known as “CharlieDota”)
  2. Ng “ChYuan” Kee Chyuan
  3. Gustav “s4” Magnusson
  4. Remus “ponlo” Goh
  5. Simon “Handsken” Haag
  • Leon “Arthur” Lee Wei Yip (Team Principal)

The Alliance wrote, “Gustav will spend the last of his competitive years with us and subsequently transition to our performance team to carry on the Alliance’s legacy.”Despite playing for the Alliance several times in the past, including a TI win in 2023, s4 rejoined after playing with Handsken in 2020-21. In regional events during DPC 2021, the team was a force to be reckoned with, but could not match that performance in international events, which resulted in s4’s departure after TI10.

Even though Handscoen stayed on and assumed the role of captain, he too left in early January 2022 after disappointing performances in the DPC. Handsken, s4, and aQua have been playing in Gunsquad since February 2022, and now they go to Alliance together. As a surprise addition to the trio, Chuan and Ponlo join the trio. As the Alliance explained in their blog, recruiting players from SEA was a natural move as they treat Dota 2 as “a religion” and pay tribute to their “deeply passionate fans”.

Alliance DPC will begin their journey in Division 2 of the 2022-23 first regional league. As a result of the fusion of the two regions, S4 said that fans can expect some “fun Dota”. Despite low expectations from fans, he aims to change that and go far in the coming year.
