Riot Games’ Valorant eSports circuit has unveiled a new in-game item capsule that will provide the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) partner teams with additional revenue. VCT Lock/ The IN capsule contains a variety of cosmetic items that allow fans to support the regions and teams participating in the first event of the 2023 season. A new skin bundle to celebrate the Valorant Lock//IN tournament in São Paulo, the first competition of all 30 franchise teams, will be added to the game between February and March. 50% of net proceeds from capsules purchased between February 8 and March 7 will be shared among all VCT partner teams competing in the U.S., Pacific, and EMEA regions. The lock/in tournament will see 32 teams travel to Sao Paulo, where they will get a chance to win $500,000 in prize money and another regional spot for the VCT Masters tournament. The lock/in capsule will be available for purchase at VALORANT and the revenue generated from the capsules will be shared with the teams. Riot Games will retain 50 percent of the revenue and the other half will be shared with all 30 franchise teams present at VCT Lock//IN in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The IN capsule most notably includes misecordia, a bright new melee that is available in four colors: green missecordia represents the Americas, blue represents the Pacific region, purple missericordia represents EMEA, and red is the color of the Valerant Champions Tour. The capsule also comes with regional themed cards and a VAMOS! Spray featuring the Brazilian character Rez.

In January, Riot Games invited two Chinese organizations to the event. Increased the number of IN participants to 32. Edward Gaming (EDG) and Funplus Phoenix (FPX) joined VCT’s 30 partner teams at the season-opening event starting February 13.
