The idea that players and teams rest and reset following Worlds in preparation for the upcoming important season is a frequent one. In contrast, during the summer, players and organisations scramble to find the best match and make roster changes public. The League of Legends offseason has already begun in all territories and is well into the free-agent announcement dates. The number of rumours and claims that have already surfaced is hardly surprising. Let’s examine the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) rosters as they now stand for 2023 and analyse news, speculations, and official confirmations. Interestingly, Riot Games said last month that the LEC would now encompass nations from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and that it has decided to broaden the scope of the LEC esports ecosystem beginning next year (EMEA). The Global Contract Database of Riot Games was used for the article’s contract dates (GCD). Investigative journalists such as Brieuc “LEC Wooloo” Seeger, Marián “Eros” Stoica, and Alejandro “anonimotum” Gomis all cited the same sources while reporting on probable roster changes.
