Manchester City will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to 11 Premier League games in a row when they travel to the Emirates stadium on Saturday afternoon to take on Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s side are currently eight points clear of second-placed Chelsea at the summit while Arsenal are placed fourth, four points clear of fifth-placed West ham United. The Gunners are in very good form having won each of their last five games in all competitions, including four straight wins over Southampton, West Ham, Leeds United and Norwich City.

Man City are in sublime form having scored 18 goals in their last four league games. They have literally bulldozed every opponent in  the last few weeks. When most of the top teams in the league are struggling to cope with the hectic schedule, Guardiola has managed his resources pretty well to prevent too many injuries and move forward.

In the last match against Brentford Phil Foden’s first half goal was enough to secure all three points for City. The English midfielder was impressive against the Bees and is likely to start against the Gunners.

Nathan Ake impressed at left-back against Brentford and could continue in that area on the field. Meanwhile Guradiola is likely to make some changes in the attack from the team that started against Brentford, with Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling all in line to start for the defending champions.

Arsenal has scored 14 goals in last 3 games

On the other hand, Arsenal are also in very good form having won each of their last five games in all competitions. Mikel Arteta’s side has actually scored 14 goals in their last three games, having thumped Sunderland 5-1 in the EFL Cup on December 21 before putting five goals past Norwich in the League on Boxing Day.

There will be no Arteta on the touchline for this match, with the Spanish coach testing positive for coronavirus. The Gunners are affected with COVID-19 with Calum Chambers, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Cedric Soares, Ainsley Maitland-Niles infected with the virus.

There could be just one change from the side that started against Norwich with Emile Smith Rowe potentially coming in for Gabriel Martinelli with Alexandre Lacazette leading the attack.
