It is the best time to be a Liverpool fan. The Reds are very much in contention to win four trophies this season. Having already won the Carabao Cup title by beating Chelsea in the final via penalties, the Reds are also in the FA Cup final and will once again face the Blues for the trophy. In the Champions League semifinal, Villarreal will be waiting for them. Not to mention that Liverpool’s Premier League title bid still remains alive. Their thumping 4-0 victory over Manchester United on Tuesday night means Jurgen Klopp’s side are temporarily at the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester City side could very well reclaim the top spot in the league on Wednesday night having played a game less, but what it means is that Liverpool are very much in contention to win three more titles this season. At the beginning of the campaign, not many Liverpool fans would have believed that their team would be fighting for three trophies in May. But now their dreams could very well come true. Let us look at Liverpool’s chances in the remaining three competitions of the season:

FA Cup (Liverpool vs Chelsea – final)

They have a great chance of winning a second domestic cup this season. Their first was the Carabao Cup which they won by beating the Blues in a lengthy penalty shootout. But in regulation time, there has been nothing to separate the sides. They have played each other thrice this campaign and all those matches ended in a draw in normal time.

Following a 1-1 draw at Anfield, they both played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. The cup final ended goalless in full-time before the Reds prevailed in a penalty shootout. The FA Cup final will undoubtedly be a closely-fought affair but confidence will be on Liverpool’s side, making them the favourites for the trophy.

Premier League

Even though Liverpool are temporarily on top of the table, Manchester City still hold the edge in this competition. A win for them against Brighton on Wednesday night will help them take back the top spot. Liverpool also have a couple more difficult fixtures still left in the season.

Even though they beat Manchester United, the Reds still have to play the Merseyside Derby against Everton and also have a tricky encounter with top-four battling Tottenham Hotspur. It is difficult for Liverpool to get their hands on the Premier League trophy but anything can still happen in the final weeks of the season.

Champions League (Liverpool vs Villarreal – semifinal)

The six-time champions have a great opportunity to increase their trophy count in this competition. Liverpool have got the best possible draw than any other team in the Champions League. After being placed alongside Benfica in the quarterfinals, the Reds are set to face Spanish side Villarreal next. For a while it looked like Liverpool will play Bayern Munich in the semifinal.

However, the Spanish club produced a major shock in the last round to set up a semifinal date with Jurgen Klopp’s side. Villarreal – the defending Europa League champions – cannot be taken lightly. However, every Liverpool fan would be happy to see his side face the Spaniards over the German giants. With their route to the final looking quite clear, Liverpool have a great chance of winning the famous European title once again this season.
