Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming was born on 1 April 1973. He is the current head coach of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League franchise. He is also one of the greatest batsmen for the New Zealand team as well and also New Zealand’s second-most capped player with 111 appearances. Moreover, he is also New Zealand’s longest-run and most successful captain as well.
He led the team successfully to the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy win which is New Zealand’s only ICC trophy in the ODI format so far as well. Fleming then captained New Zealand in the historic first T20I of the world against Australia in 2005. He took part in the 2008 Indian Premier League for the Chennai Super Kings after being signed for US$350,000 and he became the team’s coach from next year as well. However, he hung up his boots from international cricket on 26 March 2008 and in February 2015 Melbourne Stars of the Big Bash League signed him as well. On 19 January 2018, he resumed his coaching duties with the Chennai Super Kings as well.
