Experienced Bangladesh player Mahmudullah was born on 4 February 1986 and he is also known as Riyad. He is also the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team in the shortest format as well. He has played First-class and List A cricket for Dhaka Division and has played for the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in all forms of the game as well.
He is a lower or middle-order batsman and also an off-spin bowler as well. He has smashed almost 10,000 runs and 150+ wickets. However, he has the ability to finish a game efficiently. Moreover, he is the first Bangladeshi player to score a World Cup hundred (3 centuries in ICC events including consecutive tons against England and New Zealand) as well.
In the 2008-2009 domestic season, Mahmudullah finished as the second-highest run-getter in the competition with 710 runs at an average of 54.61 and after that, he was recalled to the ODI squad to face Zimbabwe in three ODIs and a tri-series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe as well. In January 2018, Mahmudullah was named captain of the Test team. Under his captaincy, Bangladesh recorded their highest total in T20Is (193/5) but they eventually lost against Sri Lanka in Tri-nation Series in Bangladesh. In the next match against Sri Lanka in Nidahas Trophy, they scored 200 runs for the first time when they chased down 214 to win the game as well.
In the 2017-18 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, Mahmudullah played for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and became the highest-paid cricketer as well. He played for Gemcon Khulna in the 2020-21 Bangabandhu T20 Cup where under his captaincy Gemcon Khulna won the first edition of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup as well.

He got married to Jannatul Kawsar Mishti on 25th June on 2011.
He has two sons – Raeed and Mayed.
The wife of Mahmudullah, Jannatul Kawsar Mishti, was a student of BBA before getting married. And, she became a housewife after the marriage.
