Lubbe was born on 22nd November 1992, he made his international debut in 2021. He was first seen in action playing of the North West cricket team squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. In June 2018, he was named in the squad for the Highveld Lions for the domestic season. In September 2018, he was named in North West’s squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup, he went on to contribute heavily for his team and was one of the star players of that season. Lubbe went on to scored his first T20 century, against Limpopo, it was a breathtaking innings which made the cricketing world take notice of this talent. He only took 33 balls to reach 100 runs, making it the third-fastest T20 century ever.
Lubbe was the tournament’s leading run-scorer for North West, with 173 runs in five matches. In September 2019, he was named in the squad for the Durban Heat team for the 2019 Mzansi Super League tournament. He was also the captain of North West’s squad for the 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup. In the 2019–20 CSA 4-Day league, he was very constant and piled on the runs. His ability to get a quick run at the top of the order makes him very lethal, he comes out with positive intent and wants to make full use of the powerplay every single time. In March 2021, Lubbe was named in South Africa’s T20I squad for their series against Pakistan. He made his T20I debut against Pakistan, on 10 April 2021. Later the same month, he was named in Eastern Province’s squad, ahead of the 2021–22 cricket season in South Africa. Unfortunately, Lubbe went unsold in the Indian Premier League auction but manages to get picked by the Parl Royals in the inaugural edition of the SA20 league, he has been a prolific run-getter in the domestic circuit but want to cement his place in the Nation team in all formats.
