Rilee Rossouw is a professional South African cricketer. He plays the role of a left-handed middle-order batter and represents the national team in all three formats of the game. Rossouw is known for his attacking stroke play and moves the score ahead with a quick pace. He is particularly severe against spin and can clear any ground in the world with ease. The stylish left-handed batsman started his career at a young age, moving through the ranks in the South African domestic circuit. The cricket world first started noticing him in the 2008 domestic season with the Eagles. The southpaw scored 765 runs, including three centuries which propelled his team in achieving success. A season later, Rossouw continue his phenomenal run with the bat and scored 1,000 runs at an average of 66.

On the back of some brilliant performances, Rossouw was rewarded with a place in the South African A squad to tour Bangladesh in 2010, and in the next three years, the left-hander struggled to break into the South African white-ball team, he was hot and cold with bat and failed to live up to the expectations of the team. He finally got his maiden South African callup in an ODI game against Zimbabwe in 2014. However, he had a terrible start to his international career, registering four ducks in his first six innings. Despite the poor start to his career, the selectors continued to show faith in him as Rossouw was selected in the T20I squad to face Australia in 2014. He responded to his inclusion with a match-winning 78 that helped South Africa to win the game comfortably.

Rossouw earned an Indian Premier League contract with the Royal Challengers Bangalore side in 2014. The team was filled with superstars and Rossouw got limited opportunities to showcase his talent, he was retained in the team for the next season as well. In January 2015, Rossouw slammed his maiden ODI century, against the Windies in Johannesburg. Following the series, Rossouw was included in the South African squad for the 2015 World Cup. He played six matches in the tournament, scoring 210 runs at an average of 52.50 and quickly become a force to reckon with in the International and T20 competitions across the globe.

Rilee Rossouw shocked Cricket South Africa in 2016, when he decided to sign the Kolpak deal with Hampshire, and was one of the several South African players who had decided to leave the country to sign the deal. As a result, he was barred from playing for South Africa, ending his international career. Post 2016, Rossouw has played for different T20 franchises over the years, he has represented the Multan Sultans and the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. He was initially picked by the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League but currently plays for the Sydney Thunder franchise.
