Theekshana made his T20 debut against Galle Cricket Club on March 1st, 2018, he made his first-class debut in December 2018 against Colombo. The talented spinner, who has also produced some important knocks batting lower down the order has had a major impact on domestic cricket in the past couple of seasons.
Theekshana has made his international debut for Sri Lanka in both the T20 and ODI format, he usually opens the bowling and has become a prominent part of the Sri Lankan white ball set up. Theekshana has a brilliant record against the left-handers. The off-spinner was bagged by the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League auction, Theekshana plays for the Jaffna Kings in the Lanka Premier League and is one of the most feared spinners in the league.
