Luke Wood is an English professional cricketer, he plays the role of a left-arm pacer and represents the national team in all T20 and ODI formats. He is known to swing the new ball and can also get some handy runs down the order. Wood made instant impacts in Nottinghamshire Premier League cricket and the County’s age-group sides to making his debut in the County Championship when he was just a teenager. Wood’ was selected in the England U-19 squad and played the ODI series against Pakistan in 2013 and was also picked in the U-19 squad for the ODI and Test series against South Africa. Luke Wood has worked on his death bowling and is currently one of the best death bowlers going around in the English domestic circuit, he blows a brilliant yorker and also changes the pace flawlessly.

After bursting onto the scene in 2015, Wood’s potential was recognised with a place on an ECB bowling camp, where he increased his pace. Wood continued to feature in the limited-overs success of Worcestershire winning back-to-back T20 Vitality Blast titles in 2017 and 2018, he was one of their go to bowler in that season and scalped plenty of wickets with the new ball and in the death overs as well. Luke Wood was drafted into the Desert Vipers franchise in the inaugural edition of the ILT20.

He went on to temporarily join Northamptonshire at the beginning of 2019 and has a decent stint with them as well. On being offered a new contract by Notts in 2019, Wood decided to opt-out mid-season and signed a three-year contract with Lancashire at the end of the 2019 season. Known for his commitment and some fine performances, the left-arm pace is one of the most dangerous bowler in County cricket at the moment with his swing and death bowling skills. A lot of T20 franchises went on to pick him on the side. Wood was bagged by the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash Lege, he signed a contract with the Trent Rockets in the Hundred and Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League.
