Kiran Navgire is a woman Indian cricketer who was born 18 September 1994. She was born in Solapur region situated in Maharashtra (India). Kiran is now a player who represents both the Indian women’s team on International level and Nagaland women’s team at domestic level. In 2022, Kiran set the record for highest individual score in the Women’s Senior T20 Trophy with an undefeated 162 runs knock for Nagaland against Arunachal Pradesh. She became the first Indian cricketer (male or female) to have scored more than 150 runs in a T20 match. Kiran Navgire is basically a daughter of a farmer and a housewife. She has two brothers. Primarily Kiran was into athletics, but then she pursued her career as a cricketer. She began playing cricket during her undergraduate studies at Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Kiran was selected to the university cricket team and played without getting any official training from 2013-14 to 2015-16. She was also a part of the Pune University and competed in the javelin throw, shot put, and 100 meters. She officially began her schooling at the Azam Campus in Pune, where she pursued a two-year study in physical education. She played her debut match in the 2018-19 Senior Women’s One Day League for Maharashtra. She later got a chance to represent Nagaland as a guest player in the 2021-22 Women’s Senior T20 Tournament after not getting enough opportunities with the Maharashtra squad.

On 15 April 2022, Kiran became the first Indian cricketer male or female to hit 150+ runs in a Twenty20 innings. She did this while playing for Nagaland versus Arunachal Pradesh at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. She was selected to the Velocity’s team in preparation for the 2022 Women’s T20 Competition. On her debut match against the Trailblazers on May 26, 2022, she hit fifty on just 24 balls. This was quickest in the Women’s T20 Challenge. Two days later, she scored a 13 ball duck in the final. She was later selected for the Indian women’s team for the T20 international series against England in September 2022. She finished her studies at the Baramati Sharda Vidyalaya.
Despite coming from a background where Kiran’s father is a farmer and her mother is a housewife, Kiran showed great potential and became one of the important cricket players in the Indian team. Although, she has not played many International matches for India but her domestic career has been splendid till now. She has played a total of 6 International matches in the T20 format. She has made a total of 17 runs in her International career. In her domestic career as she has represented multiple teams, she has quite a considerable form throughout. She is a player who is full of potential and if given more opportunities can turn out to be a promising batter for India.
