Jos Buttler is a professional cricketer, who represents England cricket team Internationally. Jos Buttler is one of the most important players in England’s team currently. He has represented his team in all the three formats of the game including Test, ODI and T20I. Buttler was born on 8 September 1990 in Taunton, Somerset, England. He is a right handed batsman who opens the innings and is known for his aggressive batting style. Buttler leads the England cricket team in limited overs games. Buttler in domestic cricket plays for Lancashire. Buttler is one of the most successful captains of the England team so far. His cricketing career started from the King’s college in Taunton, from where he completed his education. 

Buttler has represented Somerset in under 13, under 15 and under 17 teams in domestic cricket. The first time when Buttler played in List A cricket for Somerset was back in 2010. He scored 22 runs in his first appearance and remained not out. Lancashire during the end of 2013 declared about the contract with Buttler. In the very first match for Lancashire, Buttler scored 42 runs and in the second innings he scored a match winning 72 runs knock. He was selected in England’s team in replacement of Matt Prior after playing 10 first class matches for Lancashire. Buttler was first time included in the England’s T20 Internationals team for their series against India in September 2011. He was part of the England Lions on a tour of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. In January 2012, Buttler scored his first limited overs hundred against Sri Lanka. Buttler played his debut One Day International match against Pakistan in early 2012 in UAE. He became part of the England’s team that played in 2012 ICC T20 world cup. Buttler played in all the matches of the tournament, scoring 40 runs in total. Buttler got the chance to play in a Test match for England when Matt Prior was injured during the series against India in 2014. He played in the 3rd Test of the series and scored 85 runs from 83 balls in his 1st innings. 

After Buttler’s constant performance, he was awarded with the title of ‘best white ball wicket keeper batsman in the world’. His first Test hundred came in a series against India in 2018. Buttler scored his ODI career’s best score against West Indies in February 2019. He scored 150 runs from just 77 balls. Buttler was appointed as a vice captain of England’s team in the 2019 ICC world cup. He scored the fastest world cup hundred by any England’s player in a match against Pakistan. His 110 runs partnership with Ben Stokes in the finals helped them to lift the world cup for the very first time. Buttler led England’s team in the 2022 ICC T20 world cup. He proved to be the most important player of England’s team in the tournament. Under his captaincy, England won the 2022 T20 world cup.
