Harleen Deol is a female cricketer who represents team India. She was born on 21 June 1998.  She represents Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket. She is a powerful right hand batter who loves hitting the ball. She also bowls right arm leg spin on occasion. Harleen in her early days used to play a lot of gully cricket among boys. However, the female part was still adjusting to the sport in India back then. Harleen, like other wrist spinners, is a big Shane Warne admirer. She played outstanding cricket during the IPL 2019 exhibition match having women’s cricketers from around the world. Harleen, other than cricket, loves to do stuff like singing. She is a cheerful personality off the field. She particularly likes rap.

Harleen is particularly effective against spinners, as she is quite fast and has a very good footwork. She can act as a power hitter and also she can be a player with subtle touch against slower bowlers. Harleen is herself a tweaker and a wrist spinner. Well right now she isn’t a completely formed and skilled cricketer yet, she has the ability to be a true all-rounder. Harleen in her early days played for Chandigarh as well, where she played her first match against Mohali. There she also met former Indian left arm fast bowler RP Singh, as he was the coach of their team. She got to learn a lot of things as a bowler and as an overall cricketer from the experienced cricketer RP Singh.

On 22 February 2019, Harleen played her first debut match for India against England at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in Women’s One Day International (WODI). With this Harleen became the second woman cricketer from Chandigarh to play for India, following Taniya Bhatia. On March 4, 2019, she made her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut against England. After that she played her Trailblazers Women’s T20 Challenge debut match on 6 May 2019 against Supernovas. Harleen and Smriti Mandhana had a partnership of 100 runs in that match. She was then selected to India’s team for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia in January 2020.

Harleen became famous in July 2021 when she took an almost impossible catch showing her acrobatic abilities while dodging the boundary rope during England’s Twenty20 series. Even Sachin Tendulkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi both praised her catch. She was nominated to India’s team for the cricket event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, in July 2022. Till date she hasn’t got a big career, as she has played a total of 29 international matches including 3 formats of the game. She has played 7 One Day Internationals and has scored 104 runs in total. Her highest score in ODI is 58 runs. In T20 Internationals she has played a total of 22 matches and has scored 245 runs. Her highest score in T20I is 52 runs. Seeing Harleen’s way of playing she is more suited in T20s and ODIs. She can turn into an outstanding all rounder in the near future.
