A three-match One-Day International series between the West Indies and England will start on December 4 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. In order to qualify for the 2025 World Cup, West Indies and England will need to win as many games as possible. Currently, they are in fifth place and seventh place in the ICC Women’s Championship standings, respectively. While England was thoroughly defeated by India at home, West Indies lost the ODI series against the White Ferns by a score of 2-1. Let’s examine some of the major matchups before the series begins.

Kate Cross vs. Kycia Knight

Knight, an accomplished batter, has rejoined the West Indies side and will try to make an impact against the English team. Her record versus England is not particularly impressive, so it won’t be simple for her. She has scored just 77 runs at an average of 11.0 in 8 games versus England. She has been dismissed by Kate Cross three times in the seven innings. Therefore, it will once again be up to England’s most seasoned seamer to get rid of Knight.

Afy Fletcher versus the English middle order

The most recent ODI series between these two teams in the Caribbean saw Fletcher pick up 9 wickets in 5 games. Against England, she has a total of 19 wickets in 12 games with a strike rate of 30.0. When she has played more than five games against an opponent, this is her second-best strike rate. Fletcher has dismissed Heather Knight three times, Nat Sciver twice, and Dany Wyatt twice in the most recent ODI series played in the West Indies. Her recent form has also been strong; in three games against New Zealand, she took 4 wickets. So she would look to continue her same form again against the three lions.
