Sachin Tendulkar is not only a renowned cricketer but also one of India’s most beloved sons. Tendulkar recently chose to take a tea break at a wayside tea stall while travelling on the Goa highway. He posted a video of himself drinking ‘chai’ with rusk and meeting locals. “By the way, this is the Belgaum-Goa expressway. Chai, enjoy it with Ghar ka rusk. Called toast, hard toast,” Sachin Tendulkar said in the video posted on Twitter.

Sachin, dressed simply in a t-shirt, pants, and shoes, appeared relaxed as he met the locals without any security. The footage showed the famed cricketing superstar’s humility as he shook hands with the owner of the roadside stall and even took a selfie with him. He took the selfie himself making the day of the owner. He also met other locals, including a high school student.

The greatness of Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar was the most complete batter of his generation, the most prolific run-maker of all time, and the game’s most recognisable figure. His hitting was founded on the most fundamental principles: perfect balance and precision in stroke-making. There were no obvious flaws in Tendulkar’s game. He could score all around the wicket, off both feet, he could adjust his game to suit any occasion, and he scored runs in every corner of the world and in every condition.

Tendulkar, blessed with one of the sharpest cricket wits established his greatness early. He was only 16 when he made his Test debut, and after being hit in the face by Waqar Younis, he continued to bat. His first Test century, a match-winning one at Old Trafford, came when he was 17, and he had 16 Test hundreds by the time he was 25. In 2000, he became the first batter to score 50 international hundreds; in 2008, he surpassed Brian Lara to become the top Test run-scorer; and in the years since, he has surpassed 13,000 Test runs, 30,000 international runs, and 50 Test hundreds.
