The quarterfinals of India’s top-tier domestic one-day cricket competition, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, are due to begin on Monday. Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh advanced to the quarterfinals, defeating Jharkhand and Mumbai, respectively. Punjab and four-time champion Karnataka will square off, with the North Indian state aiming to capture their first-ever crown. Maharashtra will also be vying for a position in the last four against one-time champion Uttar Pradesh.

All eyes will be on Jammu and Kashmir after they defeated Kerala in a preliminary quarterfinal on Saturday to record their first-ever knockout stage triumph in their cricketing history. Assam, who finished runners-up after losing to Delhi in the 2012-13 final, will be hoping to maintain their form against Jammu and Kashmir, who must also climb four more stairs to win their first-ever domestic crown. Himachal who won the trophy last season has failed to make the cut this time after finishing as the runners-up in SMAT 2022.
