Twitter reacts as N Jagadeesan hits highest ever List A score

He missed out on a triple century in List A cricket as he got out for 277. But as is the case he now holds the highest-ever individual score by a batter in List A cricket. He went past Rohit Sharma's record of 264 and was looking set for the triple hundred but out got when it seemed to be in touching distance.

Narayan Jagadeesan of Tamil Nadu eclipsed Sri Lankan icon Kumar Sangakkara on Monday to record the most consecutive hundreds in List A cricket history. List A cricket includes ODI matches as well as matches from various domestic competitions with overs ranging from 40 to 60. This feat was achieved by the batter during his team’s play against Arunachal Pradesh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s premier 50-over domestic cricket league. He scored his fifth consecutive hundred in the competition during the match.

He has also struck the most consecutive tonnes in a single season in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, surpassing players like Virat Kohli, Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devdutt Padikkal, who have all earned four centuries. Jagadeesan is also the tournament’s highest run-scorer, having amassed 624 runs in six matches at an average of 156.00 and still going. With this, he has surpassed Kumar Sangakara, who got four successive centuries in the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
