England and New Zealand are locked in an exciting 2nd Test on Day 5 at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Tuesday. The hosts need 263 runs after the first session to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-Test series. England openers Alex Less (30 not out) and Ollie Pope (6 not out) were at the crease when umpires called for lunch on the final day. Zak Crawley was the only wicket to fall for the hosts in the second innings as New Zealand quick Trent Boult sent him packing for four runs.

New Zealand put up a massive total of 553 runs in the first innings after being put into bat. The visitors saw some key contributions from Daryl Mitchell (190) and Tom Blundell (106) in the first essay with veteran paceman James Anderson picking up a three-wicket haul. England, meanwhile, responded well in the second innings with former captain Joe Root (176) and Ollie Pope (145) guiding them to 539.

The visitors, however, were bundled out for 284 runs in the second innings with Will Young (56), Devon Conway (52), Daryl Mitchell (62 not out) scoring half-centuries for the side. England veteran Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowlers in the second innings as he picked up a three-wicket haul.

The match also a significant record being broken as Boult went past Sri Lanka great Muttiah Muralitharan to become the most runs scorer at Number 11.
