The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 was completed on Sunday, with England collecting the title after defeating Pakistan in the final, and we’ll look at the top three matches from the tournament that left us speechless.

India vs Pakistan Super 12

The fans were treated to a tense match as Kohli’s masterpiece guided India to victory in a last-ball thriller. India appeared to be out of the game after losing four wickets with only 31 runs on the board while chasing 160. But Kohli played the innings of his T20I career, smashing an unbeaten 82 off 53 deliveries to lead India to a thrilling victory. With India needing 28 off 8 balls Kohli hit two huge sixes against Pakistan’s best death bowler and brought India closer to the target.

Pakistan vs Zimbabwe Super 12

Everyone expected Pakistan to win this match, and it appeared even more likely after Zimbabwe could only score 130 in their 20 overs. Pakistan was making good progress, but Sikandar Raza’s triple strike absolutely demolished Pakistan’s middle order. They needed 11 runs off the last over to win, and they had cut it to three with the penultimate ball. However, the batters were unable to score the second run as a run out prompted remarkable scenes in Perth. Pakistan lost another match on the last ball, and their hopes of reaching the semi-finals appeared grim after that.

Netherlands vs South Africa Super 12

South Africa dominated the Netherlands for the majority of their innings. 158 was never considered as a total the Proteas couldn’t chase down, despite the Dutch accelerating and adding some vital runs towards the end. The pressure of the game, along with some excellent Dutch bowling, proved too much for the South African batters. South Africa was eliminated from the tournament, while Pakistan advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Bangladesh in the following match.
