Somerset is currently placed second in the points table and they have 14 points to their name after having won 7 games and losing 2 as well whereas Hampshire is placed fourth in the points table with 5 wins and as many defeats as well.
However, Rilee Rossouw smashed an unbeaten 36-ball 85 and Tom Abell scored 62 off 46 in an unbeaten stand of 153 as Somerset beat Essex by 8 wickets. Essex did quite well to post 188 on the board after stunning knocks by Michael Pepper (86*) and Paul Walter (58), but bowlers failed to restrict the opponents as Rossouw hammered seven sixes and five fours in his innings as Somerset reached the target in 17.3 overs as well.

On the other hand, Hampshire faced a defeat in their last game against Surrey as they retained their place at the top of the table with a four-wicket win. While James Vince gave Hampshire a steady start, he didn’t get much support from the other end and could only manage a 20-ball 30. Joe Weatherley hit 29, but the late surge from James Fuller, who remained unbeaten on 39 off 22 helped Hampshire put up a total of 151 runs in 20 overs. Surrey, however, managed to reach the target as Kieron Pollard stepped up with a 22-ball 34 to take the team home with 4 wickets in hand.
