Middlesex will play against Essex in their upcoming fixture on Thursday, June 23 at Lord’s in London. Middlesex has 6 points to their name after having won 3 games and losing 6 as well whereas Essex is placed at third in the points table with 5 wins and 3 defeats as well, having 11 points as well.

Middlesex lost their last game to Surrey after an all-round show from Sunil Narine handed Surrey over a seven-wicket win, taking Surrey to the top of the points table while chasing down Middlesex’s 156 in 15.1 overs as well. After opting to bowl, Surrey restricted Middlesex to 155, with Luke Hollman top-scoring with 31. In reply, Sunil Narine’s unbeaten 51 off 29 took the team home, alongside Ollie Pope who played an unbeaten 37. Meanwhile, opener Will Jacks also gave them a solid start with a 20-ball 43 as well.

Meanwhile, Essex are placed in third place after an 11-run win over Sussex where all of Essex’s batters scored runs, but the standout was Daniel Sams who batted at No. 6 and smashed 71 off just 24 balls. He smashed six sixes and as many boundaries to take Essex to 244 as well. Sussex’s Mohammad Rizwan (66) and skipper Ravi Bopara’s fifties (51) were not enough whereas Alistair Orr and Tom Alsop also tried with quick cameos but they could only manage 233 runs and eventually lost.
