On the other hand, Gloucestershire is currently placed fifth in the points table and they have 12 points to their name after having won only 5 games and losing 5 as well.

However, both the teams played their last game against each other. Hampshire’s nine-run win stopped Gloucestershire’s chances of progression after the bowlers did a stunning job in keeping them restricted to 169/7 in a chase of 179 as well. Ben McDermott’s 38-ball 50 led Hampshire’s innings, but his effort went in vain as the lack of support from the other end andbowlers kept taking wickets. In reply, a few early wickets and a poor start saw Gloucestershire being reduced to 64/5 as well. Late runs from James Bracey (40), Jack Taylor (37) and Benny Howell (34*) kept Gloucestershire in the chase but they couldn’t reach the target.
