Glamorgan will go up against Gloucestershire in the 52nd match of the T20 Blast at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Tuesday. Glamorgan is at seventh in the South Group with two wins and three losses in six matches. Their previous match against Surrey was washed away by rain. Gloucestershire is at fifth position with two wins and two losses in five games. Their sixth match was abandoned due to rain. Despite an unspectacular start to the campaign, both teams fancy their chances of reaching the quarter-finals.
Bowlers will probably have a say in the match as the pitch is likely to assist the pacers. Michael Hogan, the leading wicket-taker of the campaign can turn the tide in Glamorgan’s favour if he can pick up some crucial early wickets. Gloucestershire batters James Bracey, Glenn Philips and Ryan Higgins will hold the key to their chances on this challenging surface. Their bowler David Payne ran riot against Kent as he took four wickets. He can pose a threat to the opposition batters on this pitch. Glamorgan will be wary of this and would want their in-form batter Sam Northeast to take up more responsibility in the absence of Marnus Labuschagne.
