Sri Lanka will host Australia for the two match Test series, starting from June 29 at the Galle International Stadium in Galle.
Australia are touring Sri Lanka for a full series. The full tour includes three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Test matches. The tour was in doubt for a long time due to political tension in the island nation due to their economic crisis but with the situation stabilizing in the recent time, Australia decided to visit the country.
Australia began their campaign with a 2-1 victory in the T20I series but the hosts bounced back in the ODI series with a 3-2 win. With the limited-overs series, concluding with evenly matched results, the focus will shift to the Test series which gets underway from June 29 at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. Both the Test match will be played at the same venue with the second match slated to get underway from July 8.
Australia will return to familiar venue at the Galle International Stadium for the two-match Test series. The visiting side have recorded the highest total of 512/8d in the longest format of the game which came on March 8, 2004 while David Warner, Usman Khawaja among the batters having a good record. Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon, meanwhile, are among the highest wicket takers for Australia in Galle.
