Australia will tour Sri Lanka for a full series starting from Tuesday. The full tour includes three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Test matches. The tour was in doubt for a long time due to political tension in the island nation due to their economic crisis but with the situation stabilizing in the recent time, Australia decided to visit the country.

Sri Lanka had toured Australia for a 5 match T20I series which they lost, earlier this year. Australia are the fifth in the T20 rankings while Sri Lanka are at the ninth spot. It will be the first tour of Australia to Sri Lanka since 2016. The shortest format of the long tour will be important as it will act as a dress rehearsal of the 2022 T20 World Cup in October.

Sri Lanka will, then, host Australia for a five-match ODI series which begins with the first match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on Thursday while the remaining three match will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on 19th, 21st and 24th respectively.

Sri Lanka vs Australia: Australia ODI records and stats at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium

The visiting Australian side is not new to the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The touring party, in fact, will be looking to carry on their momentum from the T20I series against Sri Lanka, which saw them record a convincing 2-1 victory, into the ODI series. Prolific Australia opener David Warner will be the key in the ODI format as he holds a significant record at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Let us have a look at Australia’s records at this venue.
