The second match of the five-match ODI series between Sri Lanka and Australia will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on June 16. The first game was a hard-fought game and Glenn Maxwell‘s stunning show (80* off 51) helped Australia win it by two wickets and get a lead in the series as well. However, apart from the first T20I, all the games on this tour have been thrilling so far.
In the first ODI, Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bat first. Their top-order batters contributed well to put up 300/7 on the board in their allotted 50 overs. The Australian side started their chase but the rain played a spoilsport and the second innings was reduced to 44 overs and the total was revised to 282 as well. Although Australia lost their wickets at regular intervals, it was Glenn Maxwell who played a swashbuckling knock and helped his side to reach the finish line with nine balls to spare.
