Sri Lanka (SL) and Afghanistan (AFG) are all set to take on each other in the first of three-match ODI series at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in Hambantota on Friday, June 2 as well. Sri Lanka last played an ODI Series in March, where they lost by 2-0 to New Zealand. Meanwhile, the surprise addition of Dimuth Karunaratne to the side will give a major boost to the home team as they start their preparations for the ODI World Cup, slated to take place later this year in India.
On the other hand, Afghanistan, have announced a strong squad for the series, which also included the likes of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad who have joined the team after having a successful IPL campaign as well. However, the last time Afghanistan featured in the 50-over format was in 2022 when they managed a 1-1 draw against Sri Lanka too. Seeing their current form, this is going to be a thrilling series as well.
The tournament will be seen on Sony Sports Network. It will also be live-streamed on Sony LIV.
