Southern Brave will take on Welsh Fire in the opening contest of the men’s competition at The Hundred 2022 on Wednesday. Southern Brave, who represent the city of Southampton, will put their title on defence after reigning supreme in the previous edition of the franchise tournament while Welsh Fire from Cardiff will be looking to display their best performance from the word go.

The Hundred is a tournament hosted by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for both men’s and women’s cricketers. The new initiative taken by the ECB has seen the 100-ball per innings tournament becoming a huge success in 2021. The Hundred 2022 women’s competition, meanwhile, will get underway from August 11 after the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The inaugural match will see Oval Invincibles facing Northern Superchargers.
