Aiden Markram will take over the captaincy duties from Temba Bavuma, who has also been dropped from the squad on the back of some poor performances in the shortest format of the game
Test and ODI series are over and now we move our focus on the T20I series, South Africa and West Indies are set to battle it out in a three-match T20I series. The first two matches will be played at the Centurion on March 25 and 26, followed by a match in Johannesburg on March 28. South Africa has major changes for the T20I series, Aiden Markram will take over the captaincy duties from Temba Bavuma, who has also been dropped from the squad on the back of some poor performances in the shortest format of the game. However, the South African squad has a mixture of young and talented players alongside some seasoned players whose experience will come in handy.
The South African squad features some of the best T20 cricketers in the world, including Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, and Anrich Nortje who have done exceedingly well for various T20 franchises around the globe. On the other hand, West Indies will be led by Rovman Powell, who has a powerful side, there are some exciting players who can change the game singlehandedly. Kyle Mayers has been named his deputy for the T20I series and will play a huge role up front with the bat and with the ball as well. The match promises to go down to the wire with both teams well-matched, it will be a mouth-watering affair at the Centurion tomorrow.
The Pitch at the SuperSport Park Stadium has been a belter over the years but there have been occasions when the ball has kept low and some uneven bounce has also been seen, the batters in most cases enjoy playing at this venue. The captain who wins the toss will look to chase the total down as the pitch tends to favour the team batting second, there is also some dew expected in the latter half of the match.
